Miss Universe Cayman Islands First Runner-Up Arin Broderick Named ADACI’S Ambassador

Arin Broderick, First Runner-Up of the Miss Universe Cayman Islands Pageant

We are excited to celebrate the outstanding accomplishment of Arin Broderick, the First Runner-Up of the Miss Universe Cayman Islands Pageant.  Arin embodies a perfect blend of beauty, intelligence, grace, kindness, and compassion.

The Directors of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of the Cayman Islands (“ADACI”), many of whom were present to cheer on Arin at the Pageant, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to her for selecting ADACI as her pageant platform.  During her pageant journey, Arin played a pivotal role in highlighting ADACI’s mission and raising public awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia through her social media outreach.

Arin shared her excitement about being chosen as ADACI’s Ambassador, stating, “Embarking on this journey as ADACI’s Ambassador is an honour, and I know it will be an incredibly fulfilling experience.  I’ve had the opportunity to meet many remarkable individuals living with dementia, particularly through the Memory Cafés and at a Tea Party held in July.  Each event I attend strengthens my passion for this cause.  With every interaction I have with those affected by dementia and their families, my dedication to making a positive difference only deepens.”

Arin is currently a Dementia Friend and is on her way to becoming a Dementia Champion.  Upon completing her training, she will be able to facilitate Dementia Friends information sessions in her spare time.  Arin has also committed to continuing her efforts to raise awareness for ADACI and will be actively seeking ways to support its ongoing initiatives through fundraising.

“Thank you, Arin, for your dedication and passion in making a difference! We at ADACI are confident that you will achieve great things for ADACI and continue to raise awareness throughout our community.” — Rebecca Southway, Director.

Dorothy Davis, Chairperson of ADACI, Outlines the role of ADACI’s Ambassador

Dorothy Davis, Chairperson of ADACI, detailed the vital role of an Ambassador within ADACI and other Alzheimer’s associations, particularly in the UK.  She emphasised that an Ambassador should be a prominent figure in the community, capable of influencing their peers and driving fundraising efforts.

“An Ambassador is not just a representative; they are a passionate advocate for change,” Davis stated. “Their commitment to supporting individuals affected by dementia is crucial in raising awareness and combating stigma. With their support and expertise, we aim to transform the landscape of dementia care, ensuring that persons living with the condition and their caregivers can lead more fulfilling lives.”

Through the effort of an Ambassador, ADACI hopes to create a more compassionate and understanding community for all impacted by
Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Dementia Friends is a worldwide initiative, and ADACI is a member. It is the biggest-ever initiative to transform how people think, act, and talk about dementia. Anyone can become a Dementia Friend, all it requires is to attend a 45-minute information session. To join one of the upcoming information sessions contact a member of ADACI.
